”Wendy Sue Lamm's photographs are part of the emerging
movement of the ”New Colorists”, who hurdle from Index to Icon
in their visual expression of actuality by color, concept,
form, and content.”
Ms. Lamm has been a photographer since 1986. In 1998 she joined
Contrasto and is regularly assigned in Europe, the Americas,
and the Middle East. Her photographs have been exhibited in the
world's leading museums, and are regularly seen in publications
such as Geo, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, Der Spiegel,
Marie Claire, Elle, Le Espresso.
She has received numerous awards, including the World Press
Photo and the National Press Photographers Pictures of the
Year. While a staff photographer at the Los Angeles Times, her
photographs were part of the newspaper's coverage of the
Northridge Earthquake that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for
Spot News Reporting. Wendy Sue Lamm is a graduate of the
University of California at Berkeley.
After being based since 1996 successively in Jerusalem, Paris,
and Stockholm, she has now returned, in 1995, to her native Los
Angeles. Her book "From the Land of Miracles" reflects on the
impact of the peace process on daily life in Israel and the
Palestinian Territories. It will be published by Contrasto in
September 2005.”
