Six master composers, six symphonies, a top orchestra and its star conductor - these are the main ingredients for creating an exceptional classical menu on DW-TV ...

The six-part production presents exceptional works from musical history and their creators.

The series kicked off with "An Alpine Symphony" by Richard Strauss. It was followed by Symphony No. 3 (Eroica) by Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 3 (Rhenish), Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4, Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8. Appropriately for "Mozart Year," as a highlight of this outstanding classical masterpieces followed the Symphony No. 41, the Jupiter Symphony, from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The works were presented by star conductor Kent Nagano and the internationally successful DSO Berlin. The concerts were recorded in the Philharmonie in Berlin.

We accompanied this ambitious six-part production "Kent Nagano Conducts Classical Masterpieces" - starting Saturday, 22 July 2006, on a weekly basis - in our portal under Video on Demand.

Additionally to this six-part production there will be published a DVD in  March 2007.
